Exploring the Wonders of Partition Museum

The year 1947 was a big one for India. Not only was it the year that India gained its independence from Great Britain, it was also the year it split into the two different entities of India and Pakistan—an event known as the Partition of India.

The Partition Museum, located in Amritsar, Punjab, India, is the world’s first museum dedicated to commemorating the largest migration in human history caused by the Partition of India in 1947. The museum stands as a tribute to the resilience, courage, and sacrifices of those who endured the traumatic division of the Indian subcontinent into two nations: India and Pakistan.

The Partition Museum offers a poignant and immersive experience through a mix of artifacts, oral histories, photographs, and personal belongings of Partition survivors.
